During the baseball team’s best road trip in six seasons, Head Coach George Valesente ’66 celebrated a milestone that has been reached by only 50 coaches in all levels of college baseball. But he didn’t know it happened until his players began to celebrate the achievement with him.

Baseball: Valesente reaches 1,000th win in Blue and Gold’s victory

Head Coach George Valesente reached another milestone in his storied career at the helm of the baseball team when the Bombers defeated Pomona-Pitzer College yesterday by a score of 9-5 in Claremont, Calif. The win was the 1,000th of Valesente's 40-year coaching career, which has included stints at SUNY-Brockport, SUNY-New Paltz and SUNY-Maritime.
