“People can look up and see a list of experiences and say, ‘Hey, my experience isn’t isolated,” she said.

“Natural hair is intimidating to them — it signifies pride,” she said. “It puts them off because it shows how we have found beauty within ourselves.”
Sophomore Ryan Downie said he decided to drop by because he could kill two birds with one stone: He could donate to charity and get a haircut.
