First-ever Carifiesta celebrates cultural pride through music, food and dance

On a rainy, warm winter night at Ithaca College, a fiesta brought music, celebration and joy to Emerson Suites and IC Square. The first ever Carifiesta, a combination of the words “Caribbean” and “Fiesta,” took place March 7. The event aimed to uplift Caribbean and Latino culture and voices in the form of a vibrant celebration at Ithaca College and was a collaboration between IC Haitians, Poder: Latinx Student Association and IC International Club.
