The SGC held a meeting with President La Jerne Cornish to discuss IC Rise Up’s written statements of protest against racism on campus.
The IC campus community gathered in solidarity with IC Rise Up and students of color the afternoon of March 8 at Freedom Rock outside the Campus Center. This was the second protest organized by IC Rise Up — the first was a series of written testimonies distributed across campus with personal statements of experiences of racism, discrimination and microaggressions.

Discrimination on Ithaca College’s campus came to the surface thanks to shared experiences from BIPOC students.
Written statements highlighting personal accounts from students of color about experiences of microaggressions, racism and discrimination were collected, printed, and posted by IC Rise Up, a student group that primarily functions through its Instagram page.
