Guest speakers from the Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ Learning Project presented to the Ithaca College Student Governance Council during their meeting April 20. Stephen Henhawk, Language and Culture Lead at GLP, discussed the historical and present-day livelihoods of the Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ community and the importance of centering Indigenous voices in conversations about sustainability.
Mika Kennedy and Pamela Sertzen, professors in the Center for the Study of Culture, Race and Ethnicity at Ithaca College published an article in the Ethnic Studies Pedagogies Journal in December 2025.
The Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ Learning Project promotes visibility for Indigenous people in Ithaca through a variety of initiatives. Through groups such as their book discussion club, they aim to center Indigenous voices in conversation.
