Editorial: Food insecurity discussions important for community

The fact that the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life is sponsoring these critical discussions about food insecurity indicates the college is taking a step in the right direction.
Dave Cameron ’96, senior web strategist,  and Brian Bessire, digital strategist, talked in a meeting held by the web  development team. The new website will be tested internally within the coming weeks.

College website redesign to be launched internally

Molly Israel’05, executive director of marketing strategy, said the team hopes to be able to test out the new website internally in the coming weeks.
Junior Tate Johnson addressed the crowd of an anti-racism rally held Dec. 11 at Free Speech Rock at Ithaca College, during which attendees voiced their criticisms of President Tom Rochon. Rochon was called upon to speak at the event.

Success with addressing campus racial issues varies nationwide

During the Fall 2015 semester, colleges and universities across the country were rocked by student protests addressing racial tensions on campuses. Ithaca College was also affected by these issues, and it is among many other institutions that are now trying to heal their communities while also facing losses in enrollment and retention.
John Rosenthal, council member and professor in the Department of Mathematics presented the summary of the approved budget for the 2016–17 fiscal year to the council at the March 22 meeting. Rosenthal said he was concerned with the ambiguity of where and how much money is being spent for each school.

Faculty Council criticizes lack of budget transparency

The Faculty Council is planning to distribute Ithaca College’s budget to all faculty with the attached criticism that it is “deeply lacking detail.” The council is also preparing to launch its diversity and inclusion database by the end of this week.
Senior Rob Flaherty, president of the Student Government Association, will serve as one of the two students chairs for the IEBC next semester.

President to add students to budget committee
