Following escalations in Gaza in the past year, significant media attention has been paid to the ongoing conflict and its expansion throughout the Middle East. Commentators sympathetic to both Palestinian and Israeli experiences have raised charges of bias against mainstream Western publications.
About 20 students gathered outside of the Campus Center Dining Hall on Oct. 12 to attend a candlelight vigil to collectively grieve the death of Palestinians in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. The vigil was organized by Ithaca College Students for a Free Palestine and students sat in a circle playing music, reading poetry and sharing their feelings.

On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas led attacks on an Israeli music festival that killed about 1,200 people, now marking a year of the Israel-Hamas war. To commemorate the events of Oct. 7, members of the Ithaca College community organized and attended gatherings to remember the tragedy and its aftermath.
