The Ithaca College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced April 25 that longtime head athletic trainer Michael Matheny will be retiring at the end of the 2023–24 academic year.
Dynasty: a word thrown around so often in modern sports that it hardly means anything anymore. Winning a few championships or competitions within a short time frame is impressive, yet that does not fit the definition.

Susan Bassett and Paula Miller were included in the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America’s (CSCAA) list of the 100 Greatest College Swimming & Diving Coaches of the past 100 years.
Ithaca College head football coach Mike Welch '73 announced Aug. 10 he will retire after 22 season as head coach. He has led the team to a 164–73 record during his tenure.
