Jan Singer, who majored in business and psychology at the college, left her former position as CEO of Victoria’s Secret lingerie and joined J.Crew, which is currently struggling financially, on Feb. 2. She has worked in the fashion industry for over 25 years at iconic brands like Calvin Klein, Chanel, Nike and Prada, according to an article posted Jan. 29 on IC News.

Ithaca College trustee Jan Singer ’86 has been named CEO of the clothing retailer J.Crew, according to a statement released by the company Jan. 28.

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees unanimously voted to appoint Kim Zeoli ’89 to the board.
Dave Maley, director of public relations, said via email that the college’s alumni participation rate — the percentage of alumni who give back to the college — has decreased from 12.2% in the 2010 fiscal year to 6.4% in the 2019 fiscal year.

Over the last decade, the percentage of alumni donating to Ithaca College has decreased by approximately half. 
This is a 2.95% increase from the $45,275 tuition for the 2019–20 academic year, or $1,336 more. The percentage increase for the 2020–21 academic year is the same as the percentage increase for the 2019–20 academic year, when the dollar amount of the increase was $1,297.

College approves tuition increase for 2020–21 academic year

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees set the tuition for the 2020–21 academic year at $46,611, a 2.95% increase from the previous academic year.
This new project is a collaboration between the City and Town of Ithaca. The town’s part of the project is expected to start in Spring 2020 and finish at the end of summer.

Route 96B sidewalk to begin construction in Spring 2020

Construction on a sidewalk along 96B, the route that connects Ithaca College to downtown Ithaca, is moving forward to provide safer access to campus.

Over the past two years, President Shirley M. Collado’s administration has added administrators and expanded student services on campus in an attempt to respond to student concerns. However, with rising costs in higher education, the administration is also tasked with balancing the need to provide adequate services for students with the high costs that come with them.
