Ithaca College announces firm that will find the new president
Ithaca College has announced the third-party firm tasked with finding the next president of the college. Spencer Stuart will assist in the search for the ninth president of the college
The list of professors at Ithaca College who were awarded tenure for 2015–16 was announced Feb. 21. However, missing from the list were the names of the professors that POC at IC demanded be given immediate tenure.
In meetings held the week of Feb. 8, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees met to discussed the selection of a new president, efforts to further the initiative of developing a new shared governance system at the college and measures to improve diversity and inclusion.
A solar electric project including 9,000 solar panels that will cover 10 percent of Ithaca College’s energy needs is currently under construction.
The Ithaca College Board of Trustees has approved increases in the tuition, financial aid, salary pool and operating budget of the college during its February meeting.
Rochon’s total compensation for the 2013 calendar year, the most recent year for which data is available, was $458,318. This includes base pay, bonus pay, nontaxable and “other.”

Students protesting the racial climate at Ithaca College are not the only ones finding a collective voice with which to address institutionalized racism. In a tumultuous fall semester, at least 75 other colleges and universities have begun bringing their demands for change to their administrations.
Along with being the president of Ithaca College, Tom Rochon serves as chairman of the board of directors for Tompkins Financial Corporation.
The College announced March 2 tuition for next year will be $40,658, a 2.85 percent increase from this year.
