SGC discusses improvements to campus network and online resources with Information Technology

The Student Governance Council met Sept. 18 to hear from the Division of Information Technology about technology improvements made at Ithaca College over the summer. The council also discussed officer reports and looked into SGC-run events for the fall semester.

SGC shares Fall 2023 election results

Six candidates ran without opposition in the Fall 2023 Student Governance Council elections and were all appointed.  After presenting their campaign platforms Sept. 12, voting on IC Engage opened Sept. 13 and closed Sept. 16. Candidates were notified of their election Sept. 18 and were given 24 hours to accept their position. New SGC members will attend their first Senate meeting Sept. 25.

SGC holds platform presentations for Fall 2023 election

The Student Governance Council (SGC) held its platform presentations at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 for students running for the executive board and senate positions for the 2023–24 academic year. A group of about 10 students gathered in the Taughannock Falls Room to hear from the six candidates.

Vote counts from the Spring 2023 Ithaca College Student Governance Council elections revealed that first-year student Matthew Williams — who was disqualified — beat the elected president by 83 votes.

SGC announces 2023–24 executive board and senate members

SGC released the elected candidates April 25 that will serve on the executive board and senate during the 2023–24 academic year.

The 2022–23 executive board for SGC met for the last time April 24 and passed an amendment and a bill.
The Student Governance Council had its annual spring platform presentations April 18 for candidates in the Spring 2023 election. All current seats have expired for the upcoming semester, so if a council member wants to maintain their seat, they must run for re-election.
