Softball sweeps Cortland in midweek doubleheader

The Ithaca College softball team rolled to pitching-led victories in both legs of the doubleheader April 21 versus the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. In game one, the Bombers grabbed an early 3-2 lead and held onto it for the rest of the contest. In game two, they survived a Red Dragons’ seventh inning rally to win 4-3.

Softball splits home opener doubleheader with Nazareth

The Ithaca College softball team experienced a handful of ups and downs April 8 in a doubleheader against the Nazareth University Golden Flyers. After a crushing 14-10 loss in game one, the Bombers rallied to steal the win 6-5 in game two. With the split, the Bombers moved to 11-6 on the season while the Golden Flyers moved to 10-8.

Club sports serve as a pathway to varsity level athletics

While club and varsity sports operate as independent units, participants are all athletes on one campus. As a Division III school, opportunities arise for club athletes to play on a bigger field, and vice versa. For senior lacrosse goalkeeper Nichole Allan, the chance did not come until her final semester at Ithaca College.

Softball builds toward bigger success in NCAA tournament

The Ithaca College softball team is coming off its best season since 2019, making it all the way to the Division III postseason tournament in May 2025 before falling to Texas Lutheran University in the Regional round. This time around, it looks to return to the tournament and potentially advance even further.

Softball splits doubleheader against Union as offense stagnates in game 2

The Ithaca College softball team faced a rollercoaster of emotions April 4 in a doubleheader against the Union College Garnet Chargers. The Bombers entered the matchup with a 22-1 all-time record against the Garnet Chargers, with their last loss being in 2003. They defended their record with a 10-0, five-inning win in game one, but fell 2-1 to the Garnet Chargers in game two.
