On Sept. 13, Ithaca College women’s basketball legend Katherine Bixby ’10 was inducted into the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame. However, the former All-American has continued to leave her mark on the women’s college basketball landscape, coaching at multiple levels. On Sept. 2 she accepted an assistant coaching position at the University of North Carolina.

For a large majority of college athletes, intercollegiate athletics is their final foray into the world of competitive sports before they enter the workforce. But for three of Ithaca College’s student-athletes, the workforce and professional sports became the same over the summer.
The Ithaca College women’s basketball team is now holding a record of 13–3 and have been dominating Liberty League play. Through that run, the Bombers’ staunch defensive effort has been on full display.
The Ithaca College women’s basketball team fought its way past the University of Rochester Yellowjackets in a 62–54 battle Dec. 6 en route to their sixth win of the season.
While “You Make My Dreams (Come True)” is far from a traditional victory song, Will Rothermel, former associate director of Athletics, said the energetic intro made it the perfect celebration song.
As the Ithaca College women’s basketball team wrapped up a successful 2022–23 regular season, senior forward Emily Dorn was named Liberty League Player of the Year.
In the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament, the Ithaca College women's basketball team lost 44–42 in a nailbiter against the Marieta College Pioneers on March 4.

The Ithaca College women's basketball team defeated the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers on Feb. 24 in a 73–39 blowout in the Ben Light Gymnasium.
When the Ithaca College women’s basketball team beat the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers on Jan. 28, it did so with just nine active players and seven unable to suit up.
