Black Lives Matter Ithaca event celebrates social progress

The event was an opportunity for the black community to reflect on the achievements of the Black Lives Matter movement and mourn the lives lost.

Local Black Lives Matter event draws new people into movement

“Black lives matter.” “I can’t breathe.” “No justice, no peace, no racist police.” Around 300 people chanted these phrases during a Black Lives Matter solidarity march Oct. 24 that started from the Bernie Milton Pavilion on The Commons and went down Seneca and Tioga Streets to Beverly J. Martin Elementary School.
