MTD orchestrates search for permanent dean amid concerns over leadership consistency

Ithaca College’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance has started its search for a permanent dean. The school appointed two interim deans for the 2024–25 academic year after Anne Hogan, the inaugural dean of the unified school, departed at the end of Spring 2024. The search committee for the new dean was formed at the end of summer 2024.

Will Hutnick, a Connecticut-based artist who deals in the abstract and uses atypical mediums, had an artist talk for his new solo exhibition, “Changing Faster than the Weather,” on March 26. Hutnick was able to collaborate with several art students to produce a mural the weekend prior, which is now on display on the third floor of Whalen’s School of Music.

Campus community reflects on passing of trombone professor

Members of the campus community are reflecting on the lasting legacy of Harold Reynolds, recently retired trombone professor, mentor and friend.
Reynolds’s death was announced to the campus community Aug. 30 through an Intercom post. Reynolds worked at the college for 33 years and served as the adviser for the Trombone Troupe, the college’s trombone choir.

Ithaca College will not conduct dean searches for the School of Music, School of Business and the Roy H. Park School of Communications in the 2020–21 academic year because of the ongoing academic program review.
