The women’s tennis team etched out a 4-3 victory yesterday against visiting New York University in the Reis Tennis Center. The Violets only had three players available, so each one played singles twice against different Bombers, and one doubles match.

The women’s tennis team garnered its first victory of the spring season in a 5-4 decision against Connecticut College last Tuesday. The Bombers (10—4 overall) dropped a match against Bloomsburg University 7-2 the next day.

The women’s tennis team (9—3) was swept by a combined score of 18-0 in its first matches of the spring season against St. Lawrence University and Skidmore University during the weekend.

Despite representing 10 different sports, two national championship teams and sharing a combined nine All-American awards, the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2011 accepted its honor with humility.
