John Rosenthal, council member and professor in the Department of Mathematics presented the summary of the approved budget for the 2016–17 fiscal year to the council at the March 22 meeting. Rosenthal said he was concerned with the ambiguity of where and how much money is being spent for each school.

Faculty Council criticizes lack of budget transparency

The Faculty Council is planning to distribute Ithaca College’s budget to all faculty with the attached criticism that it is “deeply lacking detail.” The council is also preparing to launch its diversity and inclusion database by the end of this week.
“Frankly, if I were a member of the [Ithaca College Board of Trustees,] I wouldn’t have voted for a budget with such vagueness,” John Rosenthall,  executive committee member and professor of mathematics, said. “But they approved it.”

Ithaca College rejects recommendation to add CAPS staff

Faculty Council reviews policy for graduation

The commencement of Ithaca College’s Faculty Council meeting Dec. 3 began with just that: Commencement. At the meeting, the council also discussed the First-Year Reading Initiative, the possible reactivation of the Benefits Committee and a potential prohibition of presentations by student organizations at the meeting.
