The SGC held a meeting with President La Jerne Cornish to discuss IC Rise Up’s written statements of protest against racism on campus.
IC President La Jerne Cornish updated the campus community on the search for vice president for enrollment and student success on June 12 via email and Intercom and said she would give more updates closer to the beginning of Fall 2023.

In 2020 — the same year that IC began the process of eliminating 116 faculty members — former President Shirley Collado’s reportable compensation jumped from $583,872 in 2019 to $723,985. 
Since junior Déontea Guy, former SGC president, resigned in November 2021, members of SGC have had to distribute the responsibilities of the president among themselves.
