A new policy proposed by President Donald Trump’s administration would allow foster care and adoption groups and agencies to deny LGBTQ families on faith-based grounds. 

The lawsuit was also filed following Michigan’s decision that it would no longer contract with foster and adoption agencies that discriminated against same-sex couples or LGBTQ people.
