Field hockey team claims its first-ever Liberty League title over the Yellowjackets

After being named runner-up in 2021 and 2023, the No. 22 Ithaca College field hockey team finally captured its first-ever Liberty League title. The Bombers defeated the No. 20 University of Rochester Yellowjackets 2-0, in a rainy championship matchup Nov. 10 at Higgins Stadium.

The Ithaca College field hockey team celebrated senior day with a thrilling shootout victory over the No. 17 Ursinus College Bears. The 2-1 win marks the Bombers’ final regular season game and improves their record to 13-5.

In its second Liberty League matchup of the 2024 season, the No. 19 Ithaca College field hockey team fell 2-1 to the William Smith College Herons on Oct. 5. The loss drops the Bombers’ record to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Field hockey secures 3-1 victory in Liberty League opener

On Sept. 28, the nationally ranked No. 18 Ithaca College field hockey team returned home to open up Liberty League play with a dominant 3-1 victory over the Union College Garnet Chargers. The victory improves the Bombers’ record to 6-3 and 1-0 in the conference.

Newfound depth adds strength to field hockey team

On Sept. 14, also known as National Field Hockey Day, spectators were given the gift of a top-20 matchup, and that matchup did not disappoint. The No. 17 Ithaca College Field Hockey team took down the No. 9 team in Division III, York College, with just one lethal penalty corner to start the game — and end it — at 1-0.
