The baseball team held a slim 3–0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning of its game against Empire 8 Conference opponent Stevens Institute of Technology yesterday. But the floodgates opened in that inning, as 11 runs crossed home plate in the bottom frame.

The baseball team completed its three game weekend series versus St. John Fisher College by winning both games of yesterday's doubleheader on Freeman Field.

Head Coach George Valesente reached another milestone in his storied career at the helm of the baseball team when the Bombers defeated Pomona-Pitzer College yesterday by a score of 9-5 in Claremont, Calif. The win was the 1,000th of Valesente's 40-year coaching career, which has included stints at SUNY-Brockport, SUNY-New Paltz and SUNY-Maritime.

With two disappointing seasons behind it, the baseball team is relying on a young pitching staff to earn the program’s first Empire 8 Conference title since 2009.
