Local pole vaulters leap to the podium at Nationals

At the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 10, two Bomber pole vaulters won as more than just teammates — their connection stems back to a local group.

Women’s track and field team launching toward another conference title

Following a triumphant Spring 2022 outdoor season where the Ithaca College women’s track and field team finished 28th in the country, the Bombers are ready to resume competition.
Matt Scheffler helped coach three pole vaulters on the Ithaca College women's track and field team to top-10 finishes nationally during the indoor season. He also coaches for the men's team, which saw an athlete finish in fifth place in the country.

Four Ithaca College student-athletes win national titles

A total of four Ithaca College athletes won national titles over the past week, garnering two individual NCAA championships each for the Bombers’ track and field and swimming and diving programs.

When Ithaca College senior Meghan Matheny started pole vaulting in eighth grade, she never would have believed that she would win a Division III national title during her collegiate career.

Athletes consider using extra year of competition eligibility

In October 2020, the NCAA approved a blanket waiver for Division III that stated athletes may compete during the 2020–21 academic year without losing participation or academic eligibility.
