Since the release of the shared governance draft, sent out to the campus community via email Oct. 24, faculty and staff have expressed concerns.
The final day to complete the Campus Climate Survey is Oct. 28. For the survey results to be valid and released, 30 percent of the campus must complete it.

On Aug. 31, the Handwerker Gallery debuted Sifuentes’ most recent project “Official Unofficial Voting Stations: Voting for all who legally can’t” which was inspired by her inability to vote due to her citizenship status.
On Dec. 11, 2015, student and faculty at Ithaca College voiced their criticisms toward President Tom Rochon during a rally. The turbulent campus climate from the Fall 2015 semester motivated junior Michele Hau to research ties between dialogue, rhetoric and racism.

Running unopposed, IC Office won as the sole ticket in the 2016–17 Ithaca College Student Government Association Executive Board election.

IC Office announced its platform for the 2016–17 Student Government Association Executive Board at the April 21 SGA platform speech night. Its platform focuses on a re-evaluation of the SGA, including efforts to improve transparency, accessibility, horizontal leadership and shared governance.

Sitting on Derek Adams’ desk in the Muller Faculty Center is a copy of Percival Everett’s novel “I Am Not Sidney Poitier,” a story about a character who is consistently mistaken for Academy Award–winning actor Sidney Poitier. The character decides to travel the U.S. and discover who he is so people will stop labelling him as someone he is not.

Ithaca College announces presidential search committee

Ithaca College has announced the members of the search committee for the college’s ninth president. The committee of 15 is made up of six members of the Ithaca College Board of Trustees, one dean, three faculty members, two staff members, two students and one alumni representative.

Heather Lobban-Viravong, associate dean and associate professor of English at Grinnell College, interviewed to replace Leslie Lewis.
