Field hockey head coach Kaitlyn Wahila gained her 100th win with the Bombers on Oct 17. Wahila has been coaching with Ithaca College for nine full seasons and in seven seasons, she has led the field hockey team to a winning record.
The Ithaca College field hockey team faced off against No. 22 University of Rochester on Oct. 11 at Higgins Stadium, in memory of Kyra Feick, striker/back from 2018-19, who died in June at the age of 25.
After being named runner-up in 2021 and 2023, the No. 22 Ithaca College field hockey team finally captured its first-ever Liberty League title. The Bombers defeated the No. 20 University of Rochester Yellowjackets 2-0, in a rainy championship matchup Nov. 10 at Higgins Stadium.Â
In a midday matchup on Oct. 25, the Ithaca College field hockey team extended its winning streak to four games in a Liberty League victory against the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds. The 2-0 victory improves the Bombers’ in-conference record to 5-1 and 10-5 overall.Â
In its second Liberty League matchup of the 2024 season, the No. 19 Ithaca College field hockey team fell 2-1 to the William Smith College Herons on Oct. 5. The loss drops the Bombers’ record to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference.Â
After a 60-minute defensive battle, the Ithaca College field hockey team fell, 1–0, to the reigning the William Smith College Herons in the Liberty League championship on Nov 5.
Following a dominant 2022 season that yielded a 14–4 record, the Ithaca College field hockey team opened its 2023 season with a tumultuous 3–0 loss to the No. 17 Kean University Cougars on Sept. 1.Â
