Skye Krehbiel, a 5th year Physical Therapy student, was one of six students who joined the removal of invasive swallow-wort seed pods event. The purpose of the event was to teach students how to properly remove the plant from the soil so they can do it anytime during the semester.

IC community volunteers to protect butterflies by removing invasive plant

Students and staff picked and gathered vines growing in the bushes in front of the Roy H. Park School of Communications parking lot Sept. 16. Some climbed into the bushes to grab the vines of the invasive swallow-wort, a plant harmful to monarch butterflies.

Commentary: Outing Club hits ground running this semester

The club facilitates all sorts of outdoor, skill-building, and environmental stewardship activities. This semester, the Outing Club finally had its first event and has more trips planned.
