Bombers emerge victorious after bitter battle with Red Dragons

The Ithaca College lacrosse team was able to do something the football team could not this academic year – defeat the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. The Bombers were able to leave Higgins Stadium victorious, 12–11, clinging to victory as the two teams battled down to the wire.

Men’s basketball falls short against Pioneers

In its home opener, the Ithaca College men’s basketball team fell to the Utica University Pioneers 82–71 on Nov. 27 in Ben Light Gymnasium.

Volleyball earns dominant win over Skidmore on Senior Day

The stands were packed with Bombers’ fans on Oct. 7, cheering on the Ithaca College volleyball team in its senior day matchup against Skidmore College. It was an intense game, but the Bombers were victorious, winning three out of the four sets. 
Derek Slywka, a graduate student defensive back for the Bombers, leaps above the line of scrimmage to block a field goal attempt by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute graduate student kicker Jared Elstein in overtime. The Bombers kicked a field goal on their next possession, clinching their win over RPI 20—17.

On a cloudy and rainy day, the Ithaca College football team did something they had not done in 22 years, defeating the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers in Troy, NY, in a thrilling 20–17 overtime victory.

Volleyball thwarts Eastern University in four sets

The Ithaca College volleyball team extended their winning streak to six games, emerging victorious over a reputable Eastern University Eagles squad in four sets (21–25), (25–22), (25– 17) and (25–15), improving their record to 11–3 prior to their first conference matchup. 
In November, a group of students delivered health promotion lessons to youth at the Salamanca City Youth Center. They pose with snack bags they packed for the children.

The Ithaca College men's soccer team tied SUNY Cortland 0–0 on September 4. The Bombers and Red Dragons battled through two overtimes to earn the tie.

Streets Alive! Ithaca celebrates ninth festival on Sept. 25

On Sept. 25, Streets Alive! Ithaca celebrated between South Plain and West Clinton Street. The event puts emphasis on natural forms of transportation.
The film festival, Cine Con Cultura, features films produced in Latin American cultures. All 11 films are in Spanish or Portuguese. Tickets are $7.50 per film or $6 for seniors and students. Festival passes are $50 for all films and $40 for seniors and students. Select screenings will be shown for free.
