The IC Esports Club is currently located in Friends 101, but will be receiving an upgraded gaming space in Friends 110 on Oct. 14. This expansion is constructed for both casual and competitive players.

Team members of the IC Esports Club line the two rows of personalized computers, preparing for their next competition while casual fans can be found playing their favorite games. Students have been receiving scam emails from Ithaca College’s Department of Biology offering a high-paying job.
Nelnet Servicing LLC is the largest federal student loan servicer and as of June 30, 2022, was providing $589.5 billion in government-owned loans, loans from the Federal Family Education Loan Program, private education loans, and consumer loans for 17.4 million borrowers, according to their second quarter 2022 earnings press release.

Information of student loan borrowers exposed in data breach

Personal information of about 2.5 million student loan borrowers across the United States was exposed in a data breach of Nelnet Servicing LLC (Nelnet) during Summer 2022.

Commentary: IT student leadership is hopeful for respect

The IT student leadership team was compelled to expand their roles and responsibilities in order to maintain IT’s organization.
The college has been dealing with phishing scams over the past several years while also taking action to prevent phishing. In 2017 there were 14 college accounts that were compromised, and in 2018 the college implemented Duo Multifactor Authentication to increase security when accessing the college’s email service and affiliated websites.

College creates new system to report phishing

On Jan. 24, Ithaca College implemented a system to report phishing emails directly to the Information Technology’s Office of Information Security. 
Dave Cameron ’96, senior web strategist,  and Brian Bessire, digital strategist, talked in a meeting held by the web  development team. The new website will be tested internally within the coming weeks.
