Two years after 'Smile' became Paramount's most successful original film since 'A Quiet Place,' director Parker Finn is back with a sequel.

‘Smile 2’ outperforms its predecessor with stronger characters and thrilling cinematography

By Logan Thompson, Staff Writer October 24, 2024
“Smile 2” starts with a bang and never pumps the brakes. Fans of “Smile” (2022) will be delighted, as this sequel is an upgrade in every way. The horror is more horrible and the scares are scarier. The main character is a scandal-plagued pop star, desperate for a comeback following a car accident and the public meltdown that tanked her career. In every way, her story is bigger than the previous main character, Rose, who was a psychiatric hospital therapist.
"Transformers One" released Sept. 20, and is the first installment of Josh Cooley's take on the Hasbro toys line.

‘Transformers One’ puts story and character growth in the driver’s seat

“Transformers One” was released by Paramount Pictures on Sept. 20. The plot follows Optimus Prime, previously Orion Pax, and Megatron, previously D-16, as they attempt to make a name for themselves and escape their boring life as simple energon miners. The film had a disappointing $24.6 million opening weekend as compared to the previously predicted $30–35 million. This is unfortunate, considering the film boasts a talented cast, amazing dynamic between its two leads and great character moments sandwiched between an action-packed plot that stuck the landing.
In “The Little Prince”, the Aviator (Jeff Bridges) tells the classic tale of the Prince to the Little Girl (Mackenzie Foy) in the stop-motion film remake of the classic childhood novel of the same name by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Review: ‘Little Prince’ transports viewers back to childhood

By Jake Leary, Contributing Writer September 4, 2016
Netflix’s “The Little Prince,” based on the classic work of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, delivers such a rich range of emotion, moral and visual complexity. This complexity is evident in “Prince” — each chapter of the Prince’s quest, from his home on the minuscule Asteroid B-612 to the vast expanse of the Sahara Desert, is rendered in stop-motion.
