The baseball team held a slim 3–0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning of its game against Empire 8 Conference opponent Stevens Institute of Technology yesterday. But the floodgates opened in that inning, as 11 runs crossed home plate in the bottom frame.
The baseball team returned to Empire 8 Conference play with a 1–0 road loss Friday against St. John Fisher College (20—8 overall, 5—4 Empire 8). The loss is the second in a row for the Blue and Gold and drops their record to 18–6–1 on the season and 8–2 in conference play.
The baseball team traveled to Utica College on Saturday and swept the host Pioneers in a doubleheader. The Bombers trailed in the first game but eventually won 12–6 and then defeated the Pioneers in the following game by the identical score.
The baseball team defeated visiting St. John Fisher College on Friday by a lopsided score of 16–2 on Freeman Field. The Bombers collected 16 hits and a school record nine batters were hit by a pitch.
The baseball team began Empire 8 Conference play with a 5–1 victory yesterday against Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. The Bombers are now 10—3—1 on the season and ranked 20th in Division III.
