The 27th annual FLEFF reflects on turbulence and change in our communities and the world

The 27th annual Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) runs from April 1 through April 14. This year's special theme is “Turbulence” with events and screenings happening on Ithaca College's campus and downtown at Cinemapolis.

Patricia Zimmermann, Charles A. Dana Professor in the Department of Screen Studies, Media Arts, Sciences and Studies at Ithaca College and director of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival died the morning of Aug. 18 after a short illness.

IC talks all things film with pre-FLEFF events

FLEFF officially finds its new home at the college’s Roy H. Park School of Communications. To celebrate this development, the Park School announced it will be hosting five pre-festival events.

Ithaca College professors contribute to National Film Registry

The National Film Registry chooses films each year for preservation because of their historical significance to American society, and nine Ithaca College professors have written essays for some of these films.
Tanya Saunders, assistant provost of international programs and extended studies, said Ithaca College is planning to cut more than half of its study abroad programs for the 2017–18 academic year. Currently, the college has 249 affiliated study abroad programs available to students. The revised list has 68 total, 22 of which are new programs.

Ithaca College to host 18th environmental film festival

FLEFF is a local annual film festival in its 18th year and has been sponsored by Ithaca College since 2004. This year’s festival will include films on several topics, ranging from New York City rooftop farmers to the crisis in the Congo, all under the umbrella theme of habitats.
