Ithaca College Faculty Council selects new leadership

The Faculty Council concluded the spring semester by welcoming in new council leadership and addressing goals that Benjamin Rifkin, provost and vice president for educational affairs, has for the coming year.
Roger Richardson, the current interim chief diversity officer, said he agrees with the decision to delay the search for the new Chief Diversity Officer.

Ithaca College announces presidential search committee

Ithaca College has announced the members of the search committee for the college’s ninth president. The committee of 15 is made up of six members of the Ithaca College Board of Trustees, one dean, three faculty members, two staff members, two students and one alumni representative.
Chris McNamara, Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinic Director in the physical therapy department, updated Faculty Council on the progress of the Shared Governance Task Force at the March 1 meeting. The part-time faculty union contract and the proposed changes to the Meal and Entertainment Policy were also discussed.

Faculty Council picks criteria for presidential search members

Faculty Council has decided the criteria by which faculty can be nominated for the Presidential Search Committee and who can vote for those nominees.
Gerald Hector, vice president of finance and administration, will leave Ithaca College in July to serve as the vice president for financial affairs at Cornell University.
