After being significantly smaller in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ithaca Apple Fest will make its return to its previous size.
On a typically quiet street in the Fall Creek neighborhood, dozens of people crowded around the porch of an old house, dancing and singing along to the soulful croons and acoustic guitars of a local folk band.
To participate in Porchfest, musicians must find willing homeowners to host a show on their porches and then sign up through the Porchfest website.
The Aaron Rizzo Band is influenced by blues, rock, R&B, pop and hip-hop. The band was selected to perform at the 2018 NAMM convention in Anaheim, California.
After all, Ithaca has been named as one of the best college towns in America for a reason — it has a quirky, charming culture that is impossible to describe.

What used to be a core group of seven team members has expanded to 25 IC students working on MegsRadio, a student-run online radio station.
Beautiful ballads float through the air, while musicians serenade locals from their front porches. This is Porchfest.
