A month into President Tom Rochon’s final year in office, faculty members are expressing concerns that the administration has failed to adequately address grievances voiced during in Fall 2015.

Like the African drum ensemble that greeted the Class of 2020 as they walked into the Ithaca College 2016 Convocation ceremony, the speakers who addressed them conveyed an upbeat attitude toward the upcoming year.
On Dec. 11, 2015, student and faculty at Ithaca College voiced their criticisms toward President Tom Rochon during a rally. The turbulent campus climate from the Fall 2015 semester motivated junior Michele Hau to research ties between dialogue, rhetoric and racism.

Clouds and light rain had little bearing on Ithaca College’s 121st Commencement celebration in honor of the Class of 2016 on May 22.
Benjamin Rifkin, provost and vice president for educational affairs, is head of a team monitoring Ithaca Colleges reaccreditation process. The college is currently in The Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaccreditation process, a procedure to evaluate if the college is reaching certain standards of quality higher education.
