On The Quad: Thoughts on retail meal changes?

The Ithacan went on the quad to ask students about the changes to the retail dining locations on campus made this semester. Students share their opinions on the matter.

Changes to meal exchange program cause confusion

Changes to Ithaca College’s meal exchange program from the 2024-25 academic year to the 2025-26 academic year have surprised students and student employees. Many students are confused about what meal exchange options are currently available and what each cafe serves.
On Jan. 30, Ithaca College Dining Services announced South Hill Sweets will be temporarily closed until further notice due to unexpected maintenance repairs. The shop remains gated with a sign specifying its closure.

After a grand opening Sept. 10, Ithaca College’s newest retail dining location, South Hill Sweets, temporarily closed Jan. 30 due to maintenance repairs. The shop, in Egbert Hall within IC’s Campus Center, is set to reopen for Fall 2025.
Changes have been proposed to how dining at Ithaca College will operate in the future, with the inclusion of new meal plans and an exchange system.
