Alicia Swords, associate professor in the Department of Sociology, will replace Pfaff beginning in the spring semester.
Thomas Pfaff, professor in the Department of Mathematics,  has interacted with Ithaca College administrators often as the former Honors Program director for three and a half years and as a faculty member.

Student addresses racism and rhetoric in scholar program

With guidance from her faculty mentor, Robert Sullivan, associate professor of communication studies, Hau analyzed documents from colleges in the United States as evidence for her argument, which connects political theory to the reality of discussing racism on campus.
Students in the honors program visited Ottawa, Canada Feb. 22, 2014. This year students travelled back to Ottawa Jan. 26 during its winter festival. The program sponsors at least one major cultural trip each semester.

Ithaca College honor students find issues with program changes

Many Ithaca College honors students are having difficulty completing the honors program since it underwent structural changes in Fall 2013. Students say the new requirements are too complicated, numerous and restrictive.
The Association of American Colleges and Universities released a report Jan. 20 called “Falling Short? College learning and career success,” which said while 80 percent of employers believe the skill of applying knowledge to real-world settings is “very important,” only 23 percent think students are well prepared with this skill.
