For four years, Emma Waite tried her best to beat the Ithaca College women’s basketball team. Following her graduation from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2024, that changed when she decided to use her last year of eligibility to become one of the Bombers, being a key part of a 19-8 season. On top of being a student-athlete, Waite became a teaching assistant and is now a graduate assistant coach of the women’s basketball team.
In its return to the postseason, the Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team played like the weather, with the offense striking like lightning and defeating the Vassar College Brewers 19-10 at Higgins Stadium.
The Liberty League Championship Tournament returned to the South Hill on Feb. 19-22 with high expectations for each school. Several team and association records were shattered on the way to crowning the 2025 Liberty League Champions: the Ithaca College women’s team and the Rochester Institute of Technology’s men’s team.
The Ithaca College men’s basketball team dropped a nail-biter to Liberty League Conference leader Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers 54-51 on Feb. 8, falling short of what would have been a storybook comeback. The loss drops the Bombers 1.5 games behind the Engineers with just five games to play. The Bombers have now lost five straight games to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, but hold a winning 27-22 record.
When many athletes would be forced to give up their sport, Ithaca College gives student-athletes the chance to transfer to the college in pursuit of an exercise science master’s degree while finishing out their NCAA eligibility with a varsity sports team.Â
It was a tale of two matches for the No. 19 Ithaca College volleyball team on senior day, as they were swept by the Cortland Red Dragons before returning the favor against the Nazareth University Golden Flyers on Nov. 9.
Coming off a fifth consecutive second place finish in the Liberty League Championship Tournament last season, the Ithaca College men’s swimming and diving team is looking to rely on mental strength and a selfless squad to challenge the daunting Rochester Institute of Technology this season.
With upstate New York weather being as unpredictable as it is, the Ithaca College baseball team has had to make numerous adjustments this season to accommodate a weather-intolerant field. Freeman Field is a natural dirt and grass field, not a synthetic surface, which means it cannot be plowed or played on while wet.
The Ithaca College women’s and men’s rowing teams squared off with multiple New York state foes at the Cayuga Duels on March 30 at the Cayuga Inlet.Â
Members of Ithaca College’s softball and baseball teams will have to wait a few weeks into the season to enjoy home-field advantage, but that will not stop players from making the most of the start of the season.Â

With the 2024 season on the horizon, the Ithaca men’s lacrosse team has been preparing to enter a new era. After over 30 years at the helm, former head coach Jeff Long stepped down on June 1, 2023, and was replaced by Tommy Pearce.
The Ithaca College women's basketball team were victorious in the Liberty League quarterfinals contest, defeating the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers by a score of 78–59 on Feb. 20.
