From April 17 to 22, Ithaca College’s Sustainability Week offered students opportunities to educate themselves about sustainability.

SGC discusses climate-sensible goals and platforms

Larry Hirschhorn ’80 will be the main speaker at the 2023 commencement ceremony. Senior Francesca Infante-Meehan is the Class of 2023 speaker and Loki Mullholand, a civil rights activist, filmmaker and author, will receive an honorary Doctorate of Letters.

In a statement released April 18, Ithaca College announced three commencement speakers and one honorary degree recipient.

Butterfield Stadium is one of two natural grass football fields in the Liberty League. However, Ithaca College announced in November that the field would be replaced with an artificial turf surface.

According to oceanographers, ecologists and environmental policy experts, the life cycle of an artificial turf field has detrimental effects on human health and the environment.
The college has purchased all of the solar power generated from a solar farm in Seneca to offset electricity use since 2016.
