SGC discusses Fall 2025 housing changes

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Feb. 3 to discuss upcoming changes to first-year student housing selection for Fall 2025.  SGC was joined by Stanley Bazile, vice president of Student Affairs and Campus Life; Laura Davis, director and interim assistant dean of Students in the Office of Residential Life; and Eileen Roth, assistant director for Residential Education and Assessment in Res Life.
Junior Caleb Cackowski, vice president of communications, said he wants the council to have a stronger presence on campus — a goal that SGC has continually strived for. He suggested holding more events like the SGC’s Fall 2024 Town Hall to achieve improved campus outreach.

SGC discusses feedback to improve orientation for incoming students

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Nov. 18 to hear from Caryanne Keenan, director of New Student and Transition Programs, about Fall 2024 orientation and plans for Fall 2025 orientation. The SGC provided suggestions on how Keenan could further help new students get acclimated to the college. 
The SGC heard from Jeffery Golden,  associate vice president of Auxiliary Services about what the Office of Auxiliary Services covers, the meal exchange system and issues with the Mail Center.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) met Jan. 29 to hear from Jeffery Golden, associate vice president of Auxiliary Services, hold a confirmation for the elections committee and have an orientation for new and returning SGC members for Spring 2024.

Sophomore Rishabh Sen, vice president of campus affairs, went over the details of writing a bill and explained the different types of amendments to new members of the Student Governance Council.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Sept. 25 for its inaugural meeting with new senate members, who were elected Sept. 19. The meeting was a senate orientation meant to familiarize these new members with SGC procedures, policies and best practices.
