SGC welcomed three guest speakers, discussed a new bill and appointed a new vice president of communications at its meeting Nov. 14.
The SGC welcomed nine newly elected senators and instated five students to the Appropriations Committee at the SGC’s weekly meeting Sept. 19.
The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) had its first meeting of the 2022–23 academic year Aug. 29.
Two guest speakers joined SGC at its March 28 meeting and imparted information about student advocacy, mental health and housing.
SGC has decided to leave the position of president unfilled for Spring 2022 following junior Deontae Guy’s resignation from the position in November 2021.
SGC discussed its constituents’ concerns and questions March 7, regarding changes at the college like curriculum revision and the mask mandate.
These hours aren’t sufficient or consistent enough for students to be able to finish their assigned work in a quiet space where they can focus.
The IC Student Governance Council met with the assistant director of Emergency Preparedness and Response, to discuss COVID-19 at its Feb. 14 meeting.
This council isn’t meant to please the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), it’s meant to be critical and observant.
In comparison to previous semesters, the SGC has passed fewer bills and has seen a decrease in engagement.
The students at the college are adults, who in whichever way they can, are putting their money, time and faith into this college and into the administration.
