Training series helps students address COVID-19 concerns

The De-escalating COVID-19 Situations meeting series provided students with verbal and nonverbal ways of handling situations in which peers may not be following the college’s COVID-19 guidelines.
Rosanna Ferro, vice president for student affairs and campus life, said the college was doing well in terms of COVID-19 regulations and was working on a phased approach to slowly ease restrictions.

The SGC met with Rosanna Ferro, vice president for student affairs and campus life, passed two bills and confirmed one member at its March 1 meeting.
The Ithaca College Presidential Search Committee has announced that it has picked an executive search firm to use in the search for the 10th president of the college.

Ithaca College students are adjusting to taking classes in person again for the first time in approximately 10 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ithaca College will not be making any changes to its mask guidelines for the remainder of the spring semester.

Ithaca City School District moves to remote instruction

Due to community spread of COVID-19 and the number of students and staff members in quarantine, the ICSD is moving to remote instruction until January.
The Student Governance Council also passed one bill that changed responsibilities for academic senators and tabled a bill that recommended creating dean councils for all five schools. It confirmed two senators — a club athlete senator and a School of Business senator. 

SGC discusses collaboration for virtual spring orientation

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council discussed possible ideas for spring orientation with Kevin Perry, associate director for NSTP.
Ithaca College students from Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Vermont and countries with no health notice or a level one health notice will not have to quarantine after entering New York, the email stated. 

IC releases move-in information after new guidelines announced

Ithaca College students who were planning to take part in the ICLA program can take part in the program over the summer or next year.
At the All Student and Family Gathering on March 25, La Jerne Cornish, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, announced that the college is planning to be fully open for Fall 2021.
