The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met April 1 to pass its first bill of the Spring 2024 semester and to hear from Paula Younger, executive director for Government, Community, and Constituent Relations (GCCR).
The SGC heard from Jeffery Golden,  associate vice president of Auxiliary Services about what the Office of Auxiliary Services covers, the meal exchange system and issues with the Mail Center.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) met Jan. 29 to hear from Jeffery Golden, associate vice president of Auxiliary Services, hold a confirmation for the elections committee and have an orientation for new and returning SGC members for Spring 2024.
Luca Maurer, the executive director for Student Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in the Center for Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, met with the SGC to discuss the structure of the center and the efforts it is putting in to create a more welcoming campus.

SGC hears updates and reports from officers and senators

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Oct. 16 to confirm a new member to the Appropriations Committee and hear senator and officer reports. The meeting was supposed to feature Reginald Briggs, senior director of dining services, as a guest speaker but Briggs could not attend because he was out of town. 
 Tim Downs, chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration,  highlighted changes the college made over the summer and future plans for the college during the Oct. 9 Student Governance Council meeting.

SGC passes bill to establish vice president of residential affairs as an e-board member

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council heard from guest speakers about the Center for Career Exploration and Development and student conduct changes at its Oct. 2 meeting. The council also passed the VP of Residential Affairs Executive Board Establishment bill. 
Senior Senate chair Austin Ruffino (center) presented a bill April 24 that focused on the merger of the SGC and the Residence Hall Association. Ruffino also presented an amendment to the SGC Constitution about re-writing sections for clarity.

The 2022–23 executive board for SGC met for the last time April 24 and passed an amendment and a bill.
The Student Governance Council had its annual spring platform presentations April 18 for candidates in the Spring 2023 election.  All current seats have expired for the upcoming semester, so if a council member wants to maintain their seat, they must run for re-election.
