Q&A: Senior shares her passion for Habitat for Humanity

Senior Cayla Jones, vice president of the college's Habitat for Humanity chapter, has been working with a housing program for unhoused individuals.
Approximately 30 participants attended the event, including three professors in the Department of Mathematics, four career panelists, seven Ithaca College student volunteers majoring in math, and high school and middle school students, mainly from local schools.

Women in Math Day encourages young girls to pursue math

Women in Math Day was held Feb. 5 virtually through Zoom in an effort to encourage young girls interested in STEM fields to pursue math.
At the Ithaca College Library, a small but growing collection of personal letters, pictures and videos of life during the pandemic is being collected and archived by Bridget Bower, librarian and college archivist, who serves as the project’s administrator.

Staff and students work to create COVID-19 archive

Staff and students at Ithaca College are working together to create an archive documenting community members’ COVID-19 experiences.
Marissa Holske, a first year physical therapy graduate student, is raising her puppy, Wave, in Ithaca. Wave was expected to return to GEB for formal training in Spring 2021, but due the pandemic, Wave may stay with Holske for an extra eight months.

Formal training for guiding eyes dogs delayed

Guiding Eyes for the Blind at IC has had its paws full raising dogs amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which has delayed formal guide dog training.
