Common Council Representative Laura Lewis was assigned as acting mayor by former mayor Svante Myrick. Lewis will be retaining her vote and seat on the Common Council as the Fifth Ward alderperson until the next election.

Acquiring the attention of local politicians may seem like a challenging task, but it’s not as difficult as many imagine it to be.
The Global Climate Strike occurred internationally Sept. 20. Ithaca was one of approximately 1,500 locations in 150 countries that participated in the strike.
