Ithaca College admitted through its attorneys Sept. 24 to have found reasonable grounds to believe that Bryan Roberts, former associate dean of the Roy. H Park School of Communications, had violated the college’s intimate relationship and sexual harassment policy. The college admitted this in an answer to a complaint filed against it by a former student.

Now that the parties have filed their final written arguments, U.S. Judge Glenn T. Suddaby of the Northern District of New York will rule on the dispositive motions. Applicable court rules do not mandate that the court decide the motions within a required time period. 

The student who filed a lawsuit against Ithaca College and a former associate dean for sexual harassment and Title IX violations in November 2023 filed a memorandum of law Feb. 12 in opposition to the Defendants’ motions to dismiss the case.

A former rower on the Ithaca College crew team, has filed a Title IX lawsuit against the college’s athletic director, crew team coaches and the college.
