The lack of student voters is becoming more concerning for long-term residents who are impacted by the census of college towns like Ithaca. 
Voter turnout increased both nationally and locally in the 2018 midterm elections. Tompkins County also saw a significant increase in the amount of issued and received absentee ballots.
