Return of Blue Crew program looks to encourage student involvement

Ithaca College Athletics announced the return of the Blue Crew student rewards program on Jan. 31. This program brings together Ithaca College students, giving them an incentive to attend sporting events in return for points toward special prizes. 
First-year freestyle/backstroke Marshall Adams is apart of both the men’s swimming team and the men’s rowing team. Adams is the only student-athlete currently at Ithaca College that pursues a dual-sport combination that is not football and track and field.

Swimming and rowing could be seen as incompatible sports from the surface level. But when looked at closely, the connection may be deeper than just the water level. 
Ithaca College track and field and cross country hold annual alumni events multiple times per year. The upcoming Boston University Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9 will mark another event that will bring alumni and current athletes together.

Alumni outreach keeps track and field running

Ithaca College prides itself on alumni relations years after a student graduates. The college hosts annual alumni weekends, invites alumni to speak to students about their field and successes, and provides a safe space where they are always welcome regardless of how long it has been since they have been students. Following in this spirit, the men’s and women’s track and field teams have gone to impressive lengths to harbor a strong tie between their current and previous athletes.

Liberty League to resume conference competition this spring

The Liberty League announced March 1 that there will be athletic competition this spring after canceling fall and winter sports for the 2020–21 academic year. 
Senior runner John Blake developed Achilles tendinitis in spring 2018 and took a leave of absence in the fall to preserve his eligibility. Blake will be competing with the mens cross-country team this season.
