Ithaca College Board of Trustees approves tuition increase

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees approved an increase in tuition and room and board costs for the 2022–23 academic year at its October 2021 meeting.
Tim Downs, vice president of Finance and Administration and chief financial officer, said the college is a tuition-dependent institution and that room and board make about 90% of the net operating revenue. Tuition for the 2021–22 academic year is $46,610 on top of the $6,868 standard meal plan and a double room cost of $8,976.

IC community discusses budget cuts and tuition amid pandemic

The Ithaca College community is adjusting both to the residual effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the college’s budget and the strategic plan Ithaca Forever.
Shana Gore, executive director of Student Financial Services, said she thinks it is important for families and students to be aware of how much debt they take on. She also said that is part of the reason the college decided to freeze tuition for the 2021–22 academic year.

Senators advocate for student loan debt forgiveness

College students across the country could potentially have up to $50,000 of their student loan debt forgiven.
Junior Ana Maria Arroyo has lived in Ithaca, New York, her entire life and is now an environmental studies major at Ithaca College. Her father, Juan Arroyo, assistant professor in the Department of Politics, started teaching at the college in 2001. His position is set to be cut.

Terminated employees to retain tuition benefits for children

Terminated employees who have a dependent enrolled at the college will continue to receive full tuition benefits for the duration of the students’ enrollment.
President Shirley M. Collado explained the decision to make classes online for Fall 2020 during the gathering, saying the public health risks regarding the COVID-19 pandemic would be too high if students were to return to campus.
