In recent years, the track and field and softball programs at Ithaca College have developed partnerships with Cornell University athletics. During the 2023–2024 academic year, both the track and field team and the softball team competed against Cornell.

Athletic programs forge relationships across the hill with Cornell University

Ithaca College and Cornell University are not only united by location but also through sports. Over the decades, the track and field and softball programs of both Ithaca and Cornell have formed interdependent relationships that benefit both schools through facility usage and inter-division competition. 
Senior thrower Justin Showstead broke a 40-year-old program record in shot put Jan. 28, which lasted one week until he broke it again by nearly a full foot.

As the Ithaca College winter sports teams have resumed their seasons, many of them have seen stellar performances from stand-out athletes. Notably on that list is senior thrower Justin Showstead.

Bombers win close season opener against Swarthmore

In a tumultuous game that took until the final set to be decided, the Ithaca College volleyball team came out on top 3–2 in the Ben Light Gymnasium to open the season on a high note.
