The Ithaca College softball team finished out the final four games of its spring trip with only one loss, tallying a record of 5–1.
In the first of two games on March 17, the Bombers took on SUNY Geneseo and hit them hard in the first inning, driving in four runs. Sophomore infielder Allie Colleran was the first person to score after, senior infielder Casey Gavin singled out to second base and brought Colleran home. Geneseo would drive in one run at the bottom of the first inning.
The Bombers would then raise that run, and in the second inning, they drove  in two extra runs. That would be all the scoring the South Hill squad would do for the game, but it was plenty, as Geneseo would only drive in one more run in the third. Senior pitcher Laura Quicker would again have another stellar outing for the Bombers with eight strikeouts and only two ERA’s over seven innings pitched.
The Bombers would drop the later game to Anderson University 3–2. Anderson got things going early, driving in a run at the top of the first inning. The Ravens would score again in the top of the third, tacking on two more runs to their lead.
The Bombers would answer back after Colleran brought home freshman infielder Hannah Anderson. Trying to rally, the South Hill squad scored again in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough, as the Ravens held them off, keeping them scoreless through the final three innings. Senior pitcher Allison Macari pitched for five innings with three ERA’s and zero strikeouts. Freshman pitcher Haley Congdon would come in for two innings of relief pitching, earning one strikeout.
On March 18, the Bombers played a doubleheader against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, beating them both times.
In the early game, the Bombers scored first in the fourth inning as sophomore outfielder Emily Bloom knocked a single into left center field, bringing home freshman utility player Alex Wright. They would score again in the fifth inning as freshman infielder Nikkey Skuraton hit a bomb into left field that was good for a triple, bringing home junior outfielder Gabbie Litz from first base.
Quicker would notch another win on the mound, giving her fourth of the season. She had ten strikeouts in the game and only three hits.
The late game saw another win for the Bombers, as they won 6–2 against RPI. The South Hill squad would score three times in the first inning. RPI would get on the board in the third, scoring one run in the top of the inning.
The Bombers would then answer by scoring three more runs to close out the inning. RPI would score again in the seventh.
Congdon would see the mound again, this time for a start, where she had one strikeout and one earned run against. After four innings, Macari would come in for 2.1 innings of relief, where she had one strikeout, and then Quicker would come in to finish the game, earning two strikeouts.
The Bombers will come back north to play The College of New Jersey at noon March 26 in Trenton, New Jersey for a double header. Â
