The Bombers split a doubleheader with The College of New Jersey, winning the first game 6–4 and dropping the second game in a close match-up 1–2.

In the first game, the Lions got things started off early, getting a run in the bottom of the third inning. Unfortunately for the Lions, the Bombers’ bats came alive in the top of the fourth as they drove in six runs. Sophomore outfielder Marissa Smith scored as a pinch runner to start things off. The Lions would try to rally at the end of the seventh, driving in three runs, but the comeback would be cut short, as the Bombers would go on to win.

Senior pitcher Laura Quicker continued her successful season limiting the Lions to only five hits and four runs across six innings. Freshman pitcher Haley Congdon would come in for relief and secure the Bombers’ victory.

In the later game, the Lions again got things started scoring early in the second inning. They would score again in the fourth, putting the Bombers into a 2–0 hole. Freshman infielder Hannah Anderson would cause the Lions to sweat by homering in the top of the seventh, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Bombers wouldn’t score again in the inning.

Congdon would get the start for this one, pitching four innings and striking out four batters. Senior pitcher Allison Macari would pitch two innings of relief, striking out two batters.

The Bombers are now 9–5 on the season, heading into their first home doubleheader against the University of Rochester at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. March 31.
